Summary
Provides leadership in technical maintenance and installation of network electronic equipment. Provides technical expertise and support for all network operations. Supervision of technical personnel may be required periodically.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical training or knowledge: Ability to design, installs, configure, manage, secure, and optimize the following. Working knowledge of ATM, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, RIP, Static Routing, EIGRP, and Cisco IOS. Knowledge and understanding of OSI protocol stack, LAN/WAN protocols, router operating systems. Knowledge and understanding of routers, hubs, switches and terminal servers. Experience in developing and implementing TCP/IP networks.
Professional training or knowledge: Must possess excellent oral and written communicative skills. Provides/produces technical presentations. Possesses broad range of project planning/management skills. Knowledge of teaching methodology and demonstrated ability to teach. Must know and comply with the Secrecy of Telephone Communications Act.
Work experience: Minimum of five years experience in technical training and work experience in network design and related field network engineering.
License required: Valid California Driver's License
Education requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted.
Physical Demands: Physical demands are consistent with the performance of working with computers, printers, hardware, and software related equipment. Most of the day is spent sitting and occasionally walking, standing, bending and stooping. Frequent use of computer systems, files, printers and other office equipment and lifting, usually under 20 pounds is required. Fine hand manipulation performing computer work, and using office machines and equipment. Color vision required for examination and manipulation of colored wiring.
