HomEq Servicing is a leading full service mortgage servicing company owned by Barclays Capital. At HomEq we see servicing from many perspectives, especially yours. We are a growing company with offices located in Sacramento, CA and Raleigh, NC. We have dedicated significant resources to ensure our staff is well trained and prepared to assist borrowers facing problems making their mortgage payments on time. HomEq offers unique opportunities throughout the organization and we are currently looking for dynamic Full-Time Mortgage Loan Counselors to join our team in our North Highlands, California office. Our next on the job paid training class is scheduled to begin on February 16, 2010 (Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) for four weeks.
The ideal candidate typically has 1-4+ years loan counseling, customer service or sales and/or equivalent experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Requirements include:
High school diploma or Equivalent
Intermediate competencies in the following:
Communications skills (writing & listening)
Good negotiation and influencing skills
Problem solving skills
Time management skills
Customer service skills
Team work skills
Conflict management skills
Professional & relationship management skills
Responsibilities include:
Aid in the control of (minimize) consumer delinquency
Use all available resources to contact assigned customers
Use influencing and counseling skills to educate customers on alternatives to cure delinquency and prevent foreclosure. (Explain/educate customers on alternatives to foreclosure such as payment options, modification options, short sale options etc, and impacts of each option)
Use analytical skills to analyze customer financials to quickly assess potential account remedies/customer options
Negotiate satisfactory payment arrangements
Identify potential process improvements
Identify potential fraud and notify department fraud coordinator (per procedures)
Identify service issues or failures and takes ownership to escalate as necessary to appropriate management or department. Follows-up within a few days to ensure the issue has been addressed
Works non-standard shift hours as required
Compensation & Benefits:
