Created entirely by community members in response to a need of the people of Northern California for a safe and adequate blood supply, BloodSource has flourished for over 60 years. We continue the tradition of quality and excellence as our 16 blood centers collect blood and provide life-sustaining services to nearly 40 hospitals in 25 Northern California counties.
We are currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in our busy Donor Testing Laboratory.
Requirements
• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
• Proficient in MS Word.
• Must be quality focused and able to follow detailed regulatory and safety standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of test results.
• Adhere to laboratory quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
• Initiate donor unit recall or quarantine and resolve final disposition of quarantined components.
• Participate in and/or perform duties associated with the laboratory error management program.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Assume leadership role in absence of a supervisor or lead CLS.
Shift: Sunday-Thursday 3:00-4:00am start time. Start time is dependent on the tests the CLS is scheduled to run. Will work an 8 hour shift.
