| Description: |
Under general supervision provide system administration for the unit's servers and systems and program important department and Division applications. Work as a team member with the IT unit to develop, maintain, and administer all aspects of the computing infrastructure including servers, storage, and end user systems. Manage Windows servers hosting a wide variety of services including Web (IIS 6, IIS 7.5, and Tomcat), Microsoft SQL Server 2008, MySQL, Retrospect Backup, e-commerce, InOrder (warehouse order entry/fulfillment/inventory management system), WSUS, Sophos antivirus, Adobe Flash Media Server, and Dell management console. Support more than 400 extensions professionals housed in multiple offices throughout the state. Provide information technology support and data network management for more than 70 off-campus locations statewide.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Experience administering, configuring, and supporting MS SQL Server, IIS, Windows Server, Sophos Anti-Virus management console, WSUS, Retrospect Backup Server, Windows SharePoint Services, Apache Tomcat, DHCP, ColdFusion Server, PHP, MySQL, and various other server and network administration tools including Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer, Syslog and Event Log analysis, and Web site statistics software.
-Knowledge to program in C#, Cold Fusion, Java Script, Structured Query Language (SQL), and HTML.
-Experience administering all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL including server security, optimization, backup, maintenance, and creation of stored procedures.
-Skill with Crystal Reports to create reports.
-Experience with client-server databases.
-Skills to use a wide variety of computer languages and software and integrate their use across multiple platforms and the Internet to address communications and data management needs of professional and administrative staff.
-Experience with Ethernet LAN hardware, software, protocols and management including routers, switches, network cards, cable, TCP/IP, and IP addressing.
-Knowledge of TCP/IP and experience in advanced security hardware and software implementations, patch managment (WSUS), centralized antivirus management, secure remote access technologies (VPN etc), secure authentication, secure authorization, and various other security hardware and software implementations.
-Experience with the following operating systems and network protocols: Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Windows XP, Vista, and 7, Macintosh OS, TCP/IP.
-Understanding of Ethernet networks, and troubleshooting techniques.
-Experience troubleshooting email (Outlook, Thunderbird, and Mac Mail), Web browsing (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome, and Safari), and antivirus software.
