The position is the primary contact with clients and potential clients in securing work for the department. Meets with clients to size and scope their projects and then determines the best way to meet their objectives. Responsible for coordination of all work, print, and non-print production to internal, local and regional commercial and in-plant vendors.
Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to travel to client and vendor locations.
Must be able to conduct press checks which requires physical mobility in a pressroom and visual acuity to review and recommend adjustments in color and image quality.
Must obtain a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
This position may at times require the incumbent to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials are present. Specific hazards of the position are organic and inorganic solvents, and other materials commonly used in a printing environment.
This position may require occasional overtime.

Experience buying print from a variety of suppliers.
Project management and organizational skills to distribute attention and effort on multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience establishing, maintaining, and following up on proof and production schedules to meet deadlines and client expectations and maintain a high level of productivity.
Experienced in printing stock and making recommendations for various projects based on desired outcomes and production processes.
Experience with offset printing, digital printing and design processes, pre-production process, finishing processes and large format printing and finishing.
Experience color processes and nuances to communicate successfully with production staff and clients.
Experience to develop and execute to a technical and non-technical audience; estimates/proposals, production instructions, bid specifications, purchase orders, training materials for presentations to individuals or groups.
Communication skills to listen and recommend materials and/or processes to meet client project needs.
Skills to offer alternative ideas to meet project needs and/or budget and to prepare detailed cost estimates using the print management system.
Computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Suites environment, including database management, spreadsheets, word-processing, presentation, e-mail.
Basic knowledge and skill to use Adobe Creative Suite software in the print process.
Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
Experience teaching non-graphic designers how to prepare their design work to print properly.
Experience selling print and related services to potential customers.
Skills to set and schedule appointments and cold calls to the highest priority potential customers.
Use of a client management system to identify, groom and retain clients for a print business.
Knowledge of and experience with promotional products.
