Labor Relations Technician
Full-Time (Summer) Part-Time (School Year) / Flexible Schedule
$15 - $17 per hour
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is seeking a Labor Relations Technician to assist our Labor Relations team with information gathering in preparation for Collective Bargaining. This position offers a unique opportunity to become directly involved in the broad range of labor relations negotiation preparation that arise at a public transit agency.
The Labor Relations Technician will be expected to distribute compensation surveys related to employment salaries, benefits, and general compensation, collect survey results, perform basic analytics with survey results and potential proposal scenarios, contact and follow-up with other public agencies, schedule bargaining sessions and prepare documents for meetings, create and maintain bargaining matrix. In addition, he/she may be called upon to perform back up administrative work for our Labor Relations team.
No work experience is required; however it is desirable for candidates to possess experience with project management tasks. Candidate should be well organized, have good communication skills, strong analytical and writing skills, with Excel and Word experience at an intermediate level or higher.
This unique opportunity is being offered to 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students or a recent graduate student in the areas of Business Administration, Public Policy, English, Economics or Communications. This position is a 40 hour per week position starting the end of July 2018 (continuing on a part-time basis during the school year) with flexible hours scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
