Job Summary: The Content Coordinator is responsible for developing content for Student Housing and Dining Services. The department works closely with students, staff, faculty, family members, City of Davis leaders and the general public on a wide variety of projects. This position would interact and work with one or all of these constituents at various points in time. Position functions autonomously with direction from direct supervisor, departmental managers and the Division of Student Affairs Marketing and Communications unit. Physical Demands: Work in front of a computer terminal, typing on keyboard and sitting in meetings for extended periods of time. Walking tours of buildings and climbing stairs. Work Environment: Work occasional evening or weekend. UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space. Position is a mandatory reporter for known or suspected child abuse and requires that a statement acknowledging the requirement to report child abuse be signed. Background Check Required: This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks. Yes Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Extensive knowledge in a communication, advertising, public relations environment, demonstrated through education or equivalent experience. Experience handling multiple projects under intense or competing deadline pressure and with little supervision. Experience creating content for social media. Experience with content development for website use. Experience communicating varying offerings to an ever-changing customer base. Experience using computer-based content creation software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Create Suite. Experience in project management and research in relation to the development of media strategies. Personal initiative and strong multitasking skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an on-campus Dining or Retail environment. Familiarity with the programs and services of a university environment including Student Housing and Dining. Experience developing strategies to expand the range of content outreach and communication for changing facility needs. Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines across multiple facilities, businesses, or units. Interpersonal and cultural competence skills to effectively communicate with and support a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds, including an understanding and respect for cultural, ethnic and individual differences. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and a highly professional presence with the ability to represent Student Housing and the University both internally and externally.
